POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Officer with expertise in supply chain management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import/export operations, internal procurement validation, vendor management, inventory management, tender initiation and management, global and local sourcing, asset tagging and monitoring, and procurement scheduling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiation.
Coordinate import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade laws.
Validate internal procurement requests and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors, negotiating contracts and agreements to achieve favourable terms.
Oversee inventory management, optimizing stock levels and minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
Initiate and manage tender processes, evaluating bids and selecting suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
Source goods and services globally and locally, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring timely delivery.
Implement asset tagging and monitoring systems to track company assets and prevent loss or theft.
Manage bank account operations related to procurement activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
Develop and maintain procurement schedules to support operational needs and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.

REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on supply chain management.
Proven experience in import/export operations, vendor management, inventory management, and tender management.
Strong understanding of global and local sourcing practices and market trends.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in procurement software and systems, with experience in asset tagging and monitoring preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
