    JOB SUMMARY

    A Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Archiecture is most preferred.Good written and verbal communication skillsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsKeen attention to detailBasic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specificationsAbility to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computersIn-depth understanding of company standardsUp-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practicesUnderstanding of target market and consumer needsBlueprint reading capabilitiesDocumentation and reporting skillsTeamwork and collaborationComfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionalityChecking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirementsReviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goodsRecording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality databaseTraining the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellenceProposing improvements to the production processMonitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirementsUpdating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular trainingKeeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairsReading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographsUsing gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure productsCollecting and compiling statistical quality dataAssisting in the development of test methods and inspection plansDetermining the causes of product defects and reworksVerifying all equipment is calibrated correctly.
