Zahra Abubakar

My name is Zahra S Abubakar, a Nigerian, Graduated from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto 2022 with Master of Education (M.ED Guidance and Counseling), Bachelor Degree (BA.ED English Education) 2004, Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE Business Education) 1996 and a certified teacher by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. I Worked as a  primary school teacher, secondary and now higher institution in various capacities, and grade levels, with excellent  passion for teaching and love for children by helping them build confidence in their abilities. I am a committed lifelong learner with a proven track record of achievements.

As a team player, I have joined and participated in committees and school improvements activities through Parents Teachers Association (PTA), School Based Management Committee (SBMC) to help promote positive school-community relationship for a better environment for students, staff and the community at large. This made the community members  build a stronger confident in the school and staff and participated fully in school activities, maintenance, monitoring, minor and sometimes major repairs.

A flexible individual with ability to manage and engage with students using teaching and learning materials in the classroom. I succeeded in producing and improvising instructional materials using “low or no” cost materials such as; stones, bottle tops, ropes, empty carton, used clothes, old news papers, cans and scissors, this saved the school a lot of money which would have been used in buying them.

Conducted a Teaching Practice supervision, monitoring and mentoring of aspiring teachers to understanding of how the teaching in school is done, so as to assist to develop competencies, personal characteristics, understanding, knowledge and skills needed by a professional teacher and how best they can engage learners and successfully teach in pair/group to allow learners develop confidence in expressing their ideas to others and help encourage constructive discussion between learners.

A dedicated and enthusiastic educator with hands on experience in teaching, with specialized knowledge of teaching skills and a motivated teacher with over 17 years of experience managing small and large class- size classrooms, a certified teacher by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, with Master degree in Education (M.ED Guidance and Counselling) 2022 and Bachelor Degree in English Education (BA.ED)2004 at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto,  Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE Business Education) 1996 at Federal College of Education Kano. An individual with the  ability to manage and engage with students using teaching and learning materials in the classroom and practical knowledge in developing assignments, test papers, and lesson plans as well as the effective teaching practice skills, with excellent communication skills. Worked as a  primary school teacher, secondary and now higher institution in various capacities, and grade levels.
