Volunteer Worker 10/2019 - Current Medicaid Cancer Foundation - Abuja, Nigeria

I work part-time in this organization which is a non-governmental organization, It involves several charitable works for cancer and non-cancer patients.

Delivered effective counseling services to individuals in need, providing coping strategies to successfully navigate difficulties.

Presented at various events to raise awareness of charity work, improving funding possibilities to patients by almost 50%.

Conducted community outreach programs monthly to promote health and wellbeing initiatives to targeted groups especially cancer patients. Also, organize cancer walks to raise funds to support cancer patients.

Likewise, we established routine free screening tests for breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, etc.

Furthermore, we organize monthly caravans to rural areas where we arrange mobile consultation and free medications for patients with mild illnesses and referrals when necessary.

I also volunteer in health and food drives to rural areas in collaboration with other bodies like women in da'wah, Nigerian Medical Association, Medical Women Association of Nigeria among others.

In my spare time, I also partake in health awareness and promotional series on local radio and television stations amongst which are; Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Radio-Nigeria, Vision FM, Farin wata Station, etc.

• Duties and responsibilities of the role include initial management of all patients in the out-patient clinic as well
