Feb- 2016 I was able to gather information about the interactions with the public in the host country and issuance of visas and other travel-related documents. Officials there also visit and advise travellers facing challenges and sometimes jailed in the host country.  I used to go to the Embassy every day for a defined period of time and was interested in what they were doing. I was asking questions about their work, taking notes on any information available in the various departments of the Embassy and their specific roles.
