About Ephraim Hiar:

As a detailed oriented, focused and innovative Finance professional, I offer 7+ years of broad experience supporting Programmes as a “right hand” partner to their success. Combining key strengths in office technology, communications, planning and the ability to perform in fast paced, time sensitive environment. 

I am a proactive problem solver with strong business acumen. Currently and in the past, I have held roles with similar responsibilities with a wide range of duties; these includes, Senior Accountant (Management Sciences for Health-present), Finance Officer (Action Against Hunger-Past), Finance and Administrative Assistant (Management Sciences for Health-Past), Transaction Officer (Guaranty Trust Bank Plc-Past) etc. A sample of key contributions and achievements includes:

  • The efficient management of all finance and administrative duties of Potiskum Base with a staff strength of over 52 staff members
  • Effective coordination and reviewing of MSH Abuja and eleven state field offices accounting records across Nigeria
  • Production of over eight monthly reports to MSH, Donor and other partners.
  • Took active role in preparing internal control mechanism which enhanced the cash management policy of ACF
  • Provision of finance and administrative support to Programmes for effective implementation of project field activities in Nangere, Fune, Potiskum and Fika LGAs in Yobe state
  • Effectively managed the bank books and cash book and periodically produced reports as required
  • Instituted new inventory management process for office stationery and consumables resulting in over 20% cost savings.
  • Planned and executed approved events such as meetings, retreats, and staff seminars.
  • Contributed to the preparation of several budgets, budgetary documents and reports. 

With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Management, I believe in service for humanity with the mission to making the program staff’s daily routines more organized and efficient, leading to overall success.
