I am a Registered Nurse 

I am a self-motivated, skilled, passionate and experienced Nursing Officer, theoretically knowledgeable and possessing a sound practical background in various aspects of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse with a bachelor's degree, I have over 4 years of practicing experience in General Medical Wards, Surgical / Orthopaedic unit, Intensive care unit, Pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, Out-patient department, Mental health unit, Accident and Emergency, and Operating theatre, High dependency unit, Pediatrics and Neonatal intensive care unit.

Throughout my five years of university nursing, my clinical posting was carried out under supervision in one of Nigeria's finest teaching hospitals; Nnamd Azikiwe  State University Teaching Hospital Nnewi. I was exposed to the various specialty areas in nursing and was given the chance to carry out procedures urinary catherization, bedside urinalysis, wound suturing and dressing, nasogastric tube insertion and feeding, obtaining iv access, head to toe assessment, planning of individualized care for patients, administration of medications. After graduation, I followed the laid down standard for effective nursing practice as set out by the Nursing and midwifery council . Then I went on to being a school nurse at Mother of christ Specialis Hospital  where I worked in partnership with other health care practitioners in ensuring optimal health and wellbeing of the patients of different age group. My experiences exposed me to various medical and surgical conditions and sharpened my nursing skills.

I have also been opportune to work at some places as a staff nurse before I got my current job. One of such places was Life international Hospital . During my time there, I worked alongside other team members, taking care of numerous groups of patients with various health challenges. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for various group of patients, organizing and participating in the delivery of high standards of evidence based nursing care, independently providing high standards of care for patients without direct supervision but in accordance with established nursing procedures and policies.

In my current role as a Nursing Officer at Gbagada General Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos State, I have also been charged with the responsibility of taking charge of the ward on a regular basis, ensuring the safe ordering, administration and custody of patients’ medications according to hospital policies and procedures, carrying out admission, assessment and preparation of patients undergoing treatment or investigations as well as coordinating discharge plan. Ensuring effective communication between all members of the managing team to ensure safe management of patients, keeping abreast of new developments both clinical and professional, acting as an advocate for patients .
