    Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.
  • Directs operation of biomedical equipment by providing demonstrations, supplying information and data, instructing others in the care and use of equipment, and answering all questions
  • Keeping records of all maintenance and repairs.
  • Keeps biomedical equipment in working order by performing tests, following preventive maintenance guides, repairing and troubleshooting break downs, evaluating service contracts, ordering special services if necessary, and maintaining inventories
  • Updates job skills and knowledge by reading technical journals, taking advantage of educational opportunities, and maintaining professional networks
  • Carries out the goals of the organization by exploring opportunities to add significance to job duties, and by accomplishing different and innovative requests
  • Maintains a healthy and safe working environment by fulfilling and recommending procedures, performing safety tests, complying with codes, and guiding and training health care and medical personnel
  • Maintain accurate inventory, tracking both the addition and the deactivation of clinical equipment.
  • Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.
  • Assist, manage, and monitor third-party repairs.


    Requirements:

  • Skill in manual dexterity, hand-to-eye coordination, and color vision.
  • BSc degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology is highly desirable, as well as a minimum of (4) four years' related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of the application and repair of computers and servers and how they interface with medical equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of networking theory.
  • Considerable knowledge of general and molecular laboratory equipment
  • Ability to analyze, repair, and test electronic and electromechanical equipment in Diagnostics, General lab, Genetics and Molecular Biology Labs.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Ability to run diagnostic programs.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests.
  • Ability to lift up equipment; to push/pull equipment carts; and to kneel, stand, bend, and reach during equipment repair.
  • Skill in testing electronic equipment.
