    Job Overview

    • We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nephrology Nurse to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to individuals with renal diseases.
    • This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced nephrology professionals, utilizing your expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients undergoing dialysis, kidney transplantation, and managing chronic kidney disease.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases, including those undergoing hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation.
    • Assess patients' renal function, fluid and electrolyte balance, and nutritional status through thorough physical assessments and review of laboratory results.
    • Monitor patients during dialysis treatments, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols and recognizing and responding promptly to any complications or changes in condition.
    • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and other treatments as prescribed by nephrologists, following established nursing protocols and guidelines.
    • Educate patients and their families about kidney disease management, including dietary restrictions, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications to promote kidney health.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists, to develop individualized care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
    • Assist in the coordination of kidney transplant evaluations, pre-transplant education, and post-transplant care coordination, ensuring continuity of care for transplant recipients.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects aimed at enhancing the delivery of nephrology care and patient satisfaction.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
    • Stay current on advances in nephrology nursing practice, attending continuing education programs, conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Nurse RN licensure in the state of practice, with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in nephrology, critical care, or medical-surgical settings preferred.
    • Certification in Nephrology Nursing CNN or Certified Dialysis Nurse CDN highly desirable.
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to recognize and respond effectively to changes in patients' conditions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients coping with chronic illness.
    • Proficiency in venipuncture, medication administration, and basic nursing procedures relevant to nephrology practice.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks efficiently and managing multiple responsibilities concurrently.
    • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards of nursing practice.
    • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to ensure continuity of patient care.
