    Volunteer UI/UX Designer:
    KindTableEats

KindTableEats is a mobile marketplace that empowers single mothers by helping them sell home-cooked meals to local customers.

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Volunteer UI/UX Designer to create a simple, beautiful, and dignified experience for both our sellers and their customers.

This role is ideal for a designer who wants to use their skills to make a direct social impact and build a meaningful portfolio.

    Your Role and Responsibilities
As our UI/UX Designer, you will own the end-to-end user experience, from initial research to final prototypes. You'll work closely with our team to create an accessible, mobile-first design that works seamlessly, even in low-bandwidth environments.

    Key responsibilities include:

    User-Centered Research:
Conduct interviews and usability studies with single mothers, customers, and delivery riders. Use these insights to create user personas and journey maps.

    Design & Prototyping:
Develop wireframes, low-fidelity prototypes, and polished final mockups. You'll also help build a design system with an emphasis on readability and accessibility.

    Collaborative Design:
Partner with developers and product leads to ensure your designs are technically feasible and meet project goals.

    Accessibility Advocacy:
Champion inclusive design principles, including high-contrast text, scalable fonts, and screen-reader compatibility.
    What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a designer who is deeply collaborative and passionate about social good.
Strong understanding of human-centered design and mobile UX best practices.
Proficiency with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
Familiarity with progressive web apps (PWAs) and responsive design.
Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and accessibility principles.

    Bonus:
Experience designing for low-resource or emerging-market environments.
    Time Commitment & Impact

    Time Commitment:
This is a flexible, remote role requiring approximately 5–8 hours per week for 3–4 months.

    Direct Social Impact:
Your work will directly help single mothers earn a sustainable income, reducing inequality and improving their lives.

    Portfolio Growth:
You will gain a full-cycle humanitarian project to showcase in your portfolio with measurable community outcomes.

    Networking:
You'll connect with grassroots organizations, developers, and social-impact professionals.
