Job Title: Editor
Location: Rumuibekwe, Port Harcourt
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₦300,000 - ₦350,000
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Editor with proven experience in the Oil & Gas sector to manage, review, and refine industry-related content for accuracy, clarity, and impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy and infrastructure reporting, excellent editorial judgment, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Edit, proofread, and review Oil & Gas–related content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with editorial standards.
• Ensure technical and industry-specific information is factually correct and well-presented.
• Collaborate with reporters, correspondents, and content creators to improve story quality and structure.
• Verify facts, data, and sources, ensuring adherence to journalistic ethics and best practices.
• Develop and maintain editorial guidelines for Oil & Gas content.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and market developments to ensure content relevance.
• Manage editorial timelines and ensure prompt delivery of high-quality content.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' editing or journalism experience, with strong exposure to the Oil & Gas / Energy sector.
• Excellent command of written English, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong understanding of Oil & Gas operations, terminology, and industry trends.
• High attention to detail and strong fact-checking ability.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in digital publishing tools and content management systems is an advantage.
