Position Overview:

The Production Manager (Wheat Milling) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the milling plant, ensuring efficient production of high-quality flour products in line with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer demands. The role involves managing people, processes, and equipment to optimize productivity, reduce downtime, and maintain strict quality control throughout the production cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and oversee all milling operations to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.

• Ensure optimal utilization of wheat, minimizing waste while maintaining consistent product quality.

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of mill operators, shift supervisors, and production staff.

• Monitor plant performance, equipment efficiency, and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime.

• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards within the milling facility.

• Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure adherence to product specifications and food safety regulations (ISO, HACCP, etc.).

• Manage raw material (wheat) usage, monitor stock levels, and liaise with procurement for timely replenishment.

• Prepare and analyze production reports (KPIs, OEE, yields, downtime, etc.) for management review.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in process efficiency, energy utilization, and cost reduction.

• Train, coach, and evaluate production staff to build a skilled and motivated workforce.

• Coordinate maintenance schedules with the engineering team to ensure minimal disruption to production.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, or related field.

• Minimum of 5–8 years' experience in wheat milling or flour production, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.

• Strong knowledge of milling technology, plant processes, and production planning.

• Familiarity with food safety and quality standards (HACCP, ISO, GMP).

• Proficiency in production reporting and use of ERP or mill management systems.

• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
