Cashier - Lagos

Job summary

We are seeking a diligent and trustworthy Cashier to manage daily cash handling, maintain accurate records of financial transactions, and reconcile inventory and sales reports for our bar and restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Ensure you adhere to standard of operating procedure (SOP).
• Adhere strictly to internal controls and accounting standards.
• Ensure receipts and invoices are properly filed and organized.
• Ensure all e-sales accounts are well managed and accounted for daily.
• Communicate clearly and openly with all customers and team members.
• Ensure transparency, accountability, and consistency across all cash and stock operations.
• Resolve customer related issues at the cash point.
• Ensure proper cash mop up by close of business daily.
• Answer customer questions and provide information to resolve any issues
• Proactively engage customers to address all customer complaints & answer their questions.
• Ensure customer transactions are processed promptly and accurately.
• Manage customer transactions both cash and card payments appropriately.
• Perform mathematical calculations regarding sales and inventory.
• Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to verify stock usage and sales.
• Daily, Weekly & Monthly Reporting of activities/Tasks.
• Manage POS systems and ensure seamless transactions.
• Maintain an organized and clean cash counter.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Report any inconsistencies or discrepancies in inventory or cash records to your line manager.
• Resolve all customer issues and do refunds when necessary/appropriate in agreement with Account Manager.

Requirements

• 1+ year experience as a cashier or sales assistant.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in basic Excel or accounting software is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in using POS machines and handling cash.
• Good numerical and communication skills.
• Honesty, integrity, and attention to detail.
