    JOB SUMMARY

    Min. of B.Sc. / HND / B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.2-3 Years' experience in FMCG environmentProficiency in the use of Microsoft office applications i.e. (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Min- 2 years working experience in ManufacturingAbility to communicate wellMust be a team playerAbility to adhere to instructions, work in shifts with minimum supervision & action orientedSober mind, self-starter, physically fit and honest.Key Attributes & Competencies:Ability to solve problems on FMCG machinesAbility to communicate technical knowledge to operation staff improving their skills setsAbility to train, coach and mentor operation staff on ATO and 5's principlesAbility to optimise usages and reduce wastage with permanent solutionsInterpersonal SkillsWork in Teams and CollaborateStrong self-management practicesAbility to problem solve using basic problem solving tools (5 why; fishbone)and involved in high level problem solving to identify root causes and loop closures – AB Reports , SDCA, PDCAAbility to reduce machine downtime to minimum while ensuring the all problems have permanent solutionsAbility to analyse various graphical data and open gaps to improve performanceAbility to identify non-standard work and tag the defects with root causesAbility to identify required spares for restorations tasks and communicate with suppliers for the best possible price thus showing savings on ZBBAbility to be able to use electronic communication devices e.g. Tablets, laptops and other devices to help you understand the specific machines in more in detailAbility to understand camera technology and different type of algorithmsAbility to understand software, bus systems( Asibus, Profibus, Canbus, Ethernet, Ethercat) only for Electrical and InstrumentAlways looking for opportunities to improve MTTB and shorten MTTR.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Key Purpose of this role is the operation of the process area according to work instructions, the execution of non- destructive quality checks and carrying out of routine maintenance.The process artisan has a primary focus on the asset care activities of the team.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesOperating & Process Control:Operating the process area according to the work instructions and adhering to usage standardsCarrying out the required quality checks as described in the quality control and analysis work practiceRecording waste on the appropriate documentation or information systems, and reviewing waste trends to identify problems or opportunities timeouslyConstantly reviewing process performance against target, and completing all short interval control documentationResponding rapidly to upstream or downstream triggers that result in stoppagesAppropriate problem solving approaches, as detailed in the problem solving work practice must be followedPerforming housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practicesUnsafe work practices must be identified and correctedAssisting fellow team members in the execution of their tasksMaintenance of Plant & Equipment:Carry out in-depth cleaning, lubrication and inspection of machines according to the work instructions, and following the schedules supplied by the maintenance plannerCarrying out routine maintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule. Where routine maintenance reveals larger problems, and the process artisan is unable to resolve these, it must be escalated to the team leaderTaking part in maintenance and cleaning daysThis must be done in support of maintenance specialist supportMonitoring trends when conducting routine maintenanceWhere trends indicate the existence of underlying problems, corrective action must be Quality Control and Analyses takenThis corrective action may involve the SBU, the maintenance controller or maintenance supportWhen operating, the process artisan must carry out the non-destructive quality checks and analysesThe list of checks to be carried out are contained in the work instructionsRecording the results of quality checks on the relevant documentation or information systemWhere production does not meet quality standards the process artisan must try to identify and resolve problems using the appropriate techniquesIf they are unable to resolve the problem themselves, it must be escalated to the team leader for further directionCommunication:Actively participating in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestionsMaking use of the gap list to record issues, problems and improvement opportunitiesFully understanding the team goals and participating in team goal review sessionsWhere FFA's have been initiated, the process artisan may be asked to participateMaking use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issuesProblem Solving:When problems occur, applying the appropriate techniques (e.g. 5y, quick fix routines etc.) the identify and correct the problemWhere the process artisan is unable to resolve the problem, involve fellow team members or escalate to the team leader if necessaryWhere problems have been resolved, verify that the problems have been eliminatedContinuous Improvement Using run/control charts and trend analysis, to identify sources of waste and variation in the processUsing short stop analysis, Pareto charts and other tools seek to identify opportunities to simplify activitiesWhere improvement opportunities have been identified, these must be recorded on the team gap listThe process artisan should involve other team members in evaluating opportunities and call in specialist resources to assist if required
