- Manage all accounting
transactions and provide financial information to management by researching and
analyzing accounting data, preparing reports - Prepare budget
forecasts - Prepare, examine and
publish financial statements in time - Handle monthly,
quarterly and annual closings - Reconcile accounts
payable and receivable - Ensure timely bank
payments - Compute taxes and
prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax
requirements - Manage balance sheets
and profit/loss statements - Report on the
company's financial health and liquidity - Reinforce financial
data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary - Comply with financial
policies and regulations
Requirements for this role: (Very key) - B.Sc. or HND in Finance, Accounting; Accounting Technician will be considered if very sound.
- ACCA required (ICAN a plus)
- Conversant with FIRS/LIRS Laws
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- To work and deliver on assigned tasks within strict deadlines.
Skills: - Minimum of 4 years Proven
work experience as an Accountant - Experience
with general ledger functions and solid understanding of accounting payable/receivable
principles, and the
month-end/year-end close process; - Proven ability to
calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records - Hands-on experience
with spreadsheets and proprietary software - Proficiency in
English and in MS Office - Customer service
orientation and negotiation skills with high sense of urgency in meeting goals
and deadlines - Must have effective
written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal
relationships;
