Senior DevOps Engineer (Hybrid, Abuja)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in modern DevOps practices, GitOps, and observability. The ideal candidate will have experience in both AWS and Azure, with a proven ability to design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure and data platforms. You will play a key role in driving automation, building reliable CI/CD pipelines, ensuring observability across systems, and enabling data-driven engineering from a DevOps perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and ARM/Bicep.
• Champion GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, FluxCD, etc.) for managing infrastructure and application deployments.
• Architect, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across AWS and Azure using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Build and manage observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or New Relic) for system monitoring, alerting, and tracing.
• Enable data engineering workflows from a DevOps perspective: support ETL/ELT pipelines, data lake operations, and event-driven architectures.
• Manage and optimize serverless workloads (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Work closely with development and data teams to ensure seamless delivery of cloud-native applications.
• Ensure security best practices and compliance across cloud platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

• Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.) and Azure (AKS, Functions, App Services, Storage, etc.).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible.
• GitOps: ArgoCD, FluxCD, or similar tools.
• CI/CD Pipelines: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Observability & Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or equivalent.
• Programming & Scripting: Strong Python skills for automation, data workflows, and DevOps tooling.
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), Helm, Kustomize.
• Data Engineering (DevOps angle): Familiarity with data pipelines (Airflow, dbt, or equivalent) and cloud-native data services.
• Security & Compliance: IAM, secrets management, network policies, vulnerability scanning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, CKA/CKAD) are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.

Pay: ₦450, ₦700,000.00 per month
