- Operate machinery such as Panel, Edge banding, Beam saw, and CNC machines to fabricate furniture components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and optimal performance.
- Monitor machine operations during production to detect any deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as designers, engineers, and production staff, to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve technical issues.
- Keep accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, maintenance tasks, and inventory levels.
Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in machining or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a machinist in furniture or woodworking industry.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles and techniques.
- Ability to operate a variety of machine tools and equipment, including CNC machines.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with tight tolerances.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
