Job summary
The Restaurant & Bar Supervisor is responsible for all food and beverage operations, including culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service operations. The supervisor oversees guest and employee satisfaction, maintains standards, and meets or exceeds financial goals. The supervisor demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food and beverage laws and regulations. The supervisor develops and implements business plans for food and beverage.

- Developing and maintaining budgets
- Developing and managing all financial, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction plans and actions for Food and Beverage departments
- Maintaining a positive cost management index for kitchen and restaurant operations
- Utilizing budgets to understand financial objectives

- Managing the Food and Beverage departments
- Supervising and managing employees
- Managing all day-to-day operations
- Understanding employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence
- Utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others

- Overseeing all culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service operations
- Creating and nurturing a property environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for providing service

- Providing a learning atmosphere with a focus on continuous improvement
- Providing proactive coaching and counseling to team members

- Monitoring and maintaining the productivity level of employees

- Providing the leadership, vision, and direction to bring together and prioritize the departmental goals in a way that will be efficient and effective

- Verifying all banquet functions are up to standard and exceed guests' expectations
- Providing services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
- Improving service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed
- Serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors
- Managing day-to-day operations, driving quality, and verifying standards are meeting the expectations of the customers on a daily basis
- Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities
- Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
- Conducting performance reviews in a timely manner
- Promoting both Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open Door policies
- Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills
- Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others
- Developing an action plan to attack need areas and expand on strengths based on employee engagement and guest satisfaction results
- Additional Responsibilities
- Complying with all corporate accounting procedures
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
- Driving effective departmental communication and information systems through logs, department meetings, and property meetings
- Supporting the property's reactive and proactive sales efforts
- Providing day-to-day support to the hotel General Manager, to achieve property sales objectives, with overall responsibility for achieving booking goals and property revenues
- Implementing the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of the hotel's' sales objectives
- Evaluating the property's participation in the various sales channels (e.g., Above-property sales, Group Sales) and develops strong working relationships to proactively position and market the property
- Works with owners to manage the marketing budget to enable development of property-specific campaigns, promotions, and collateral to drive revenue and meet property objectives
- Supports the General Manager with the development and implementation of property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customer profile and provides a return on investment to the owners and MUSE Hotel & Suites
