Head of Accounting - FCT - KAAPO NIGERIA LIMITED

Description

We are currently seeking a Head of Accounting Department to join our organization in Abuja, Nigeria. This role is responsible for managing all financial transactions, including fixed payments and variable expenses, deposits and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations and ensure timely production of accurate financial statements.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare and oversee budgets and financial projections.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
• Act as a financial advisor to senior management.
• Prepare accurate financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Manage and develop the accounting team for maximum efficiency.
• Liaise with external auditors and other financial professionals.
• Analyze financial data and develop strategies to increase profitability and reduce costs.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity and advise on maintaining a strong financial position.

Requirements

• Professional qualifications (e.g., Bachelor's degree) in Accounting with a minimum of BSC second class or HND upper credit in Accounting.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role; a chartered Accountant will be an added advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
• Experience with general ledger functions.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
