    Job Description

    • Moment for Women Alliance is seeking a passionate and dedicated program officer to join our team.
    • The Program Officer will play a key role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our various programs aimed at empowering women and promoting gender equality, with a focus on leadership, climate justice, second chance education, environmental protection, and sustainable agricultural practices.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to women's rights, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the development and implementation of program activities focused on leadership & inclusive governance, providing second-chance education opportunities for women, including adult literacy programs, vocational training, and skills development workshops.
    • Coordinate initiatives related to environmental protection and sustainable agricultural practices, including training sessions on organic farming, agroforestry, and waste management.
    • Collaborate with local communities and partner organizations to promote eco-friendly initiatives and support women-led agricultural enterprises.
    • Conduct research and analysis on issues related to women's access to education, environmental sustainability, and agricultural development, identifying innovative approaches and best practices.
    • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes in the areas of second chance education, environmental protection, and sustainable agriculture, collecting data and feedback to assess effectiveness and inform future planning.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on program activities, progress, and achievements, highlighting the intersectionality of gender, education, and environmental issues.
    • Represent the Moment for Women Alliance at meetings, conferences, and other events related to education, environmental sustainability, and gender equality.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in gender studies, development studies, environmental science, agriculture, political science, sociology, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the development sector, with a focus on women's empowerment, education, environmental conservation, and/or agricultural development.
    • Strong understanding of gender issues and proven commitment to women's rights, environmental sustainability, and agricultural innovation.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
