Role Overview:
Graphic Designer

We are looking for a talented and culturally attuned Graphic Designer to join our growing team.

This role will play a key part in evolving and executing Cháps' visual identity across packaging, retail, digital, and physical brand assets.

You'll work closely with the founders and marketing team to refine and elevate our brand — ensuring our products not only stand out in supermarkets, but also clearly communicate what they are.

Given our drinks are inspired by classic African beverages, visual clarity and storytelling are critical to help customers instantly understand and connect with the product.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to shape an emerging CPG brand.

Key Responsibilities:
Brand & Visual Identity
Support the evolution and refinement of Cháps' logo, typography, iconography, and overall visual system
Develop and maintain a cohesive brand identity across digital and physical touch-points
Contribute to brand guidelines and ensure consistent application across all outputs

Packaging & Retail Design

Design and refine packaging to maximise shelf standout and immediate product comprehension
Create retail-ready assets including POS materials, shelf talkers, in-store displays, and trade marketing collateral
Balance bold, culturally rich storytelling with clarity and commercial effectiveness

Digital & Marketing Assets

Design assets for social media, paid ads, email campaigns, website, and e-commerce platforms.
Develop campaign visuals that bring the brand's heritage and energy to life.
Collaborate on product launches and seasonal activations.

Motion & Content (Bonus)

Create simple motion graphics or animated assets for social content and digital campaigns (if skilled in this area).
Creative Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, content, and external partners to translate strategy into strong visual outputs.
Bring fresh, culturally informed ideas that elevate the brand creatively and commercially

Skills & Experience

2+ years' experience in graphic design, ideally within CPG, beverage, food, or lifestyle brands
Strong portfolio showcasing branding, packaging, and digital design work
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Understanding of packaging design principles, retail environments, and consumer behaviour at shelf
Ability to balance expressive brand storytelling with clarity and simplicity
Appreciation for African culture, aesthetics, and design references (authenticity is important)
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment
Motion design skills (After Effects or similar) are a plus, but not essential
