Experience

I have excellent probing and analytical skills with problem-solving initiatives having worked consistently in the telecommunication sector as a IT Business Analyst. I consider myself a good fit for the position as I am convinced. I have the academic qualities which is my domain knowledge and the requisite work experience from a public and private sector. I am knowledgeable in SDLC and STLC methodologies in an agile environment with proven competencies on requirement elicitation, requirement analysis, requirement validation, requirement documentation and management.

I have coordinated several projects in the digital space. One of my most recent projects was to remodel Ibom Airline Booking and Payment system for smooth commercial activities because the scope of the business became bigger. My role was to elicit business needs and uncover area of improvements.

To deliver a solution that will satisfy the business community, I employed the requirement engineering framework. During the requirement elicitation stage, I interfaced with business community using a combination of interviews and observation and employing engagement methods such as tell, explain, describe., to gain tacit and explicit insight of the business needs, stakeholders interest and priorities, end users interest, market dynamism, and the regulatory framework that governs the payment card industry etc. capturing and documenting key attributes.

At the analysis phase, I used the SWOT technique to analyse the collated information and examined the current business process to uncover area of improvement using visible evidence to come up with a value proposition that aligns with the business MOST. I translated bulking user stories to a clearly defined and consistent solution requirements ensuring there is completeness and no duplication and that it is measurable and testable. I categorized the requirements into general, technical, functional, and non-functional units as well as defining the conditions and outcomes whilst documenting the requirement artifacts. I engaged subject matters experts, project manager etc. in evaluating the feasibility (business, technical and financial), impact and risk analysis.
The project environment was agile with cross functional teams from different geographical region, I organized user story workshop by coordinating the engagement of all stakeholders to discuss and document user stories, considering individual views and ideas and tailoring initiatives to the solution approach.
At the validation phase, I adjusted my communication approach to suit each stakeholders group, using BPMN to put into visualization perspective the current processes and validating any concerns with the business community to ensure solution proposition is tailored to business needs, after which I modeled the to-be process showing the extended flow of sequence by incorporating the solution functions and using the output to facilitate sign offs. For the technical team, I used UML use case diagram to model the solution functions and Entity relationship diagram to model the data elements to be consumed by each function, to bring about clarity to the project team eliminating any vague conceptions.
I produced business analysis deliverables (decomposed business and stakeholders requirement into functional, information and non-functional requirements) which was used as a criterion by solution developer to deliver a solution that will satisfy the business community. I participated in all agile ceremonies, defined epics, user stories and task for each sprint, acceptance criteria and managed requirements by prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and actively communicating with development team to gauge the project climate and improve the process of each deliverable cycle as well as participating in static testing. I am tactical in approach and I use my good sense of humour to douse tension when communicating changes of functionalities to the technical team. I participated in sprint retrospectives, seeking ways to improve next cycle.
As would be expected in a fast-paced commercial set-up, the project had few push backs from key stakeholders, but I employed my excellent stakeholder’s relationship management approach to address conflicting priorities amongst stakeholders. The project timeline was 6 weeks, and deliverables were in cycles. I used tools such as Microsoft Teams to maintain effective communication, Microsoft office tools to write and document requirements artifacts, Jira to manage and track requirements, Microsoft Visio to draw As-Is state and To-Be state of the business processes. I motivated and supported the project team which led to the successful delivery of each cycle based on the agreed timeline. On completion, I participated in user’s acceptance testing before the new solution was deployed to live environment. The remodelled payment system helped reduced churn by 25 percent, increased revenue by 11 percent and Customer's complaint down by 60% compared to previous quarter.
