Monitors and strengthens internal control

Ensure compliance in the job description of each of the staff

Ensure compliance to extant rules, policies and procedures of the bank

Ensure that relevant accounting books are kept for all transactions

Draws branch audit plan at the beginning of every year; and demand approval by the 
overall head of audit and internal control department.

Monitors budget implementation and prepares monthly/quarterly review

Ensures proper monthly reconciliation of all correspondent bank statements

Checking and proofing of all receipts and payments including correspondent banks and 
other transactions.

Snap-check on the vault balances.
Xi)
Authorization of reversal entries, all errors or perceived errors to any posted transaction 
must be brought to the knowledge of the auditor who will authorize reversal by signing 
on such vouchers along with other authorized signatories.
Xii)
Insists on compliance with due diligence and KYC standard

Insists on compliance with due diligence on bank verification Number (BVN)
