Nutrition OTP Nurse
• Responsible for day-to-day management of nutrition activities at Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) or IYCF project sites according to the standardized protocols, policies and guidelines outlined by the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) and/or Global nutrition standards.•
• Implement outpatient therapeutic feeding of severely malnourished under-fives, and community outreach integrated with IYCF activities according to the stipulated protocols.
• Participate in surveillance activities including MUAC screening of the under-fives/pregnant and lactating women based on project needs.
• Participate in ensuring that OTP or IYCF beneficiaries and local populations both understand the project goals and actively participate in their implementation.
• Ensure OTP beneficiary absentee or defaulter tracing and other forms of beneficiary follow-ups at community level.
• Ensure appropriate and consistent education messaging/Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) to mothers and other carers at OTP or IYCF project sites.
• Conduct ongoing capacity assessment of health workers on CMAM services delivery, IMCI service delivery, reproductive health service delivery, vaccination etc. and review the training needs and/or coaching needs.
• Ensure that all health facilities/sites have adequate supplies to delivery uninterrupted health care services through identifying needs, informing line manager on regular basis.
• Ensure that all children and patients visiting ACF supported facilities are properly examined and treated according to national nutritional protocols and standards.
• Ensure availability of essential nutrition supplies in assigned health facilities including data tools;
• Ensure that specific monitoring finding is reported to the Nutrition Programme Manager with potential solutions.
• Maintain and update database for health workers, community health workers/volunteers, trainings and share with line manager.
