Precious Ajibade

A trained Environmental Manager with remarkable competence and specific knowledge in various environmental aspects such as Environmental Analysis, Environmental Biotechnology, Environmental Health and Safety management, Principles of Natural Resources and Management, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Audit, Environmental Ethics, Law and government, and digital skills such as application of GIS, Remote sensing and mapping techniques. I possess a bachelor of science in Environmental Management and Toxicology (majoring in Environmental Management) degree with a second class upper division. I am enthusiastic, self-motivated, focused individual who is committed to efficiency and effectiveness with a well-developed team spirit.

I worked at Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) as an Environmental Scientist, I engaged in routine environmental monitoring visit to different industries, to ensure they are complying with environmental regulations and policy, E-waste unit, pollution control unit, and sanitation unit are where I worked. I also worked at the laboratory, going to sites to take samples (water, Air, soil) and carrying out experimental analysis. I am currently working at National Agency for Great Green wall (NAGGW) as a graduate environmental Intern. NAGGW is a Pan-African initiative conceived to halt and reverse land degradation, prevent depletion of biological diversity, ensure that by 2025, ecosystems are resilient to climate change in Sahel-Sahara region of Africa and also provide essential services that would contribute to human welfare and poverty eradication. In this organization I engage in Baseline Studies and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Community Mobilization, Sensitization and Awareness campaign, Afforestation and Land Management(tree planting activities), these activities are carried out in the most affected states in Nigeria, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kastina, Kano, JIgawa, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Gombe. My academic record and professional experience can clearly testify to the smooth path I am trying to pave in my carrier

I am a graduate of Environmental Management and Toxicology, Kwara State University Malete, The undergraduate curriculum in Environmental Management and Toxicology introduces me to a wide range of environmental aspects. While studying both depth and breadth across this field, the course work made me understand the importance of environmental sustainability, causes of environmental problems and hazards, mitigation methods, humans and the environment, and also knowing the basic environmental laws, policies and ethics. I carried out a research work on assessment of waste management practices in selected Industries (Food Processing/Chemical/Pharmaceutical industries). Waste management practices differ from one industry to another based on what they manufacture. I was able to conclude from my research that waste management practices cannot be uniform across regions and sectors, because individual waste management methods can not deal with all potential waste materials in a sustainable manner. Part of my recommendations giving to the industries I researched on are;  Industries should have control over product and packaging design, manufacturing process, material selection, while government have ability to develop , adopt comprehensive waste management strategies which seek to eliminate waste rather than managing it
 Waste should be classified properly by industry so as to know the best waste management method that suits the class of waste been produced.
 Every Industry should have a written Environmental management plan and should be approved by an environmental body.
