About Ohanebo Monica:
I am a result-oriented public health graduate with few years of work experience; whose goal is to have a fulfilling career in a reputable Health or Non-profit sector while contributing positively towards the actualization of the organizations vision and goals in an effective/creative manner-leveraging on discipline, diligence and integrity as the underlying factors to exceptional performance.
I am passionate about helping people especially the indigent/vulnerable ones. I hope to own an NGO some day where I can put in practice what i desire to achieve.
I also have a growing small business which I have built for up for a while now just to make ends meet. It's something I love to do.
Experience
During my one year mandatory servive (NYSC) in 2018-2019, I worked as a social worker where I:
Ensured receipt of authorization codes (NHIS or TISHIP) from the NHIS Desk Office/HMO and facilitated the admission of referred patients at the secondary/tertiary health care provider until the patients’ relatives are present.
Reviewed and monitored “in-patients” and “out-patients” adherence and responsiveness to treatments.
Contact traced patients’ relatives and other identifiable network especially for cases of communicable diseases.
Engaged in advocacy, collaborative services, and counseling of patients.
After the mandatory one year service, I got a 3months contract in 2019 with World Health Organization where I worked as a retroactive case search surveyor for Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) surveillance where i:
Detected the transmission level of wild polioviruschain and verify results for patients.
Visited all facilities both focal sites (having high, medium or low priority) and Non-Reporting sites using the data tool given to get results. In addition, showed that surveillance meets the required level for certification.
Few month later, I got another contract with an NGO (Center for Family Health Initiative) where I worked as a community volunteer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children. Here, I:
Ensured that the target audience (positive children, children of female sex workers (FSW), Children living with and/ or exposed to HIV positive adults) were fully catered for.
Engaged in birth registration awareness for childrenand birth registration with the National population commission.
Participated in”child protection” committee meetings and carried out gender norms session with caregivers.
Participated in Psychosocial support services such as kiddies club, adolescent club, gender norm, better parenting etc.which held at intervals.
And lastly, I worked as a Nutrition Assistant with save the children between 2021-2022 where i:
Provided technical assistance to LGA supervisors on nutrition, with focus on the implementation of effective methodologies to improve nutrition knowledge, attitudes and practices of pregnant women and mothers.
Provided technical support and guidance to Women Empowerment Groups to implementation activities related to nutrition such as cooking demonstration session during their meetings.
In collaboration with WDCs and SBC-ACGs, support integration of nutrition into targeted sensitization activities with focus on traditional leaders and other key stakeholders.
Education
I hold a degree in Public Health from School of Health in the Federal University of Technology Owerri, I graduated with a second class honors, upper division.
