About Nana Christopher Onochie:
Nana is a competent agronomist and holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension (Extension Major) from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria coupled with over seven years’ experience in innovative quality programming and business development both at the state and national levels with Youth for Agriculture in Kaduna State, Norwegian Refugee Council and currently with Christian Aid. Additionally, she has undergone professional trainings on Business and Entrepreneurship at Lincoln University – USA which focused on proposal writing and business development. In addition to her professional certifications are training in areas of Integrated Agriculture Agriculture in Thailand-Aquaculture, API Culture (Honey bee farming), (Poultry Production, Animal Husbandry, livestock management-disease identification and treatment, Diary production and processing, Organic Agriculture/Farming, vegetable Production and Waste Management) from Kasetsart University Bangkok - Thailand, Youth Empowerment programme in grain crops, Livestock, Aquaculture Production & Management at Sebore Farms - Yola, Electronic Cash Transfer with Red Rose backed by Health Safety & Security Environment (Levels 1-3) from Institute of Industrial Security & Safety of Nigeria.
Nana is currently supervising the implementation of World Food Programme Small Holder Farmers Project in Borno and Adamawa States. She previously supervised donor funded projects such as: WFP in Mafa, DFID, EU-Devco, NMFA, AFD, GFFO and SIDA projects, Maiduguri, Pulka/Gwoza and Damasak where she updated the dashboard via Global Output Reporting System-GORS, database management, monthly 5 W’s Matrix for NRC Nigeria Food Security sector and early recovery, monitoring & Evaluation, assessments of projects (before, during and after implementation), market analysis/survey, project implementation using cash transfer modalities amongst other responsibilities assigned.
She is a graduate member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and the Institute of Industrial Security and Safety of Nigeria (IISSN). Nana is also the CEO of Fresh Field Agro Consult & Organics Ltd an agro-allied company that produces 100% organic fertilizer from waste and also offers consultancy in agriculture. A 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow, she has a whole lot of experience and she loves challenges.
