Kathryn Suwa

I am an accomplished Education Advisor with a deep passion for promoting quality education and driving societal advancement. I am dedicated to supporting international experiences, cultural exchange, and student engagement to enhance education delivery and establish international institutional partnerships. With academic backgrounds in Nigerian and American higher education settings, I seek collaboration to adopt best practices and strengthen educational systems, contributing to a more robust economy. My goal is to empower students, promote internationalization, and create a positive impact in the field of education for a brighter future.

I actively work to increase awareness and establish connections between Nigerian students and U.S. institutions through workshops and outreach efforts, particularly in Northern Nigeria. I successfully facilitate collaborations and partnerships among education stakeholders by providing advisory services on institutional partnerships. Through my counseling services, I improve the understanding of the college application process and achieve increased success rates for applicants. I develop resources to train students, teachers, and colleagues on various stages of the college application process. Additionally, I enhance the capacity of high school counselors and teachers through facilitated capacity building sessions. By efficiently managing the undergraduate cohort program, I achieve higher retention and college enrollment rates. I organize thematic events that foster understanding of U.S. culture among Nigerians. Through my active participation as an anchor in regional EducationUSA events, I contribute to knowledge sharing and networking. I also strengthen the knowledge and skills of my EducationUSA colleagues through regional training in sub-Saharan Africa. Lastly, I provide mentorship to new EducationUSA advisers in West Africa, resulting in greater advising efficiency in the region.
