Hannatu Garba

I am a versatile hard-working individual with in-depth knowledge of compassion and motivation to explore differences, adapt to new environments, and communicate effectively while being conscious of transference to the other party. In the last 30 years, I worked as a civil servant in the immigration service in my home country Nigeria, full time I volunteered in community work weekends and time off from my day job as a caregiver, provided temporary shelter for residents in my area, supported young adults in gaining employment outside their educational qualifications. I give person-centered support. My key focus and strength in every aspect of my personal and work relationships are delivering the best person-centered care while maintaining and respecting boundaries and individuality.

I worked with Nigeria Immigration Service Lagos for a period of 30 years. Duties and responsibilities differ as I ranked up in position. I had various placements which enable me to explore hegemony differences across Nigeria. I worked in various places like the land borders, airports, passport issuance units, operations, and alien monitoring department. I also worked as a volunteer care community worker at weekends and during my day off the job in my community for a period of 19 years to date  

 I have a master's degree in guidance and counseling from the National Open University of Nigeria Lagos, a first degree from Ekiti state university also read guidance and counseling. I attended a college program where I obtained a certificate in a national certificate in education from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Through my programs, I read courses on mostly health-related and educational skills with field training experience practice to improve professionalism.
