Favour Jesutomi

My name is Olorunsogo Favour. I recently graduated from Redeemer’s University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
During my time at redeemer’s university, I started my ICAN (Technician) exam, which I concluded in 2021, and I was awarded the certificate of Associate Accounting Technician by ICAN. I am currently in my final papers for the ICAN professional exam.
Throughout my four years as an accounting student, I have completed a significant amount of coursework in accounting, finance, project management and leadership programs. Along with my formal education, I took online certificate courses in accounting fundamentals, reading financial statements and finance excel-spread sheet formulas. In addition, I completed a virtual audit internship training at Grant Thornton and a technology internship training at McGrathnicol. I also completed a virtual internship training in data analytics consulting at KPMG, where I learnt data insights and quality assessment. During my time taking this training, I have become skilled at using various financial technologies.
I am a detail-oriented individual who works extremely hard. I also have a passion for excellence and a drive to consistently deliver results, enabling me to be flexible and embrace learning. My academic and leadership experiences have taught me to think critically, meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks. I am confident that I will be committed to helping the organisation achieve its goals because, in addition to being loyal, I am a firm believer in teamwork and commitment.
My years working in student leadership have taught me the importance of interpersonal skills and helped me improve in team collaboration, communication and project management. In my third year, I was elected the general secretary for the accounting department. I was responsible for taking meeting minutes, ensuring tasks were done by other executive members, giving notice of meetings and generally contributing to help the association grow and perform well. I also planned publicity strategies and campaigns. I organised the first edition of the Redeemer’s University accounting summit, which provided students with increased exposure to accounting trends. I was in charge of actively implementing strategic projects. This position is the ideal opportunity for me to develop further and refine my leadership skills.

I am a certified Accounting Technician. Almost a chartered accountant
