Etienneabasi Wilson

I am Etienneabasi Friday Ekpeyong, a Physics graduate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I specialize in operating systems, with hands-on experience in installing and configuring both Windows and Linux environments. My technical background includes hardware and software troubleshooting, system repair, and remote support. I also possess scripting skills in Python and Bash, which I use to automate tasks and streamline support operations. I am passionate about solving technical problems and continuously expanding my knowledge in IT support and development.

I bring hands-on experience in system repairs, operating system installation and configuration, and software development. My technical journey began at Chidono Limited, where I worked as a system repair technician and Python instructor, followed by a role at Enetwork, where I served as a hardware technician and developer. I’ve developed simple applications using APIs, applying logical problem-solving techniques to real-world challenges.

In addition to my technical skills, I’m a strong communicator and team collaborator. I hold a certification in Emotional Intelligence (score: 100) from a program organized by Alat Wema Bank, which has enhanced my ability to engage with users empathetically and resolve issues effectively.

When I gained admission to study Physics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, it felt like a dream come true. I had always been curious about how things work and was eager to explore the laws of nature. I even volunteered to assist our lab technician during his personal research, driven by a deep desire to learn.

However, I soon encountered a system that prioritized passing exams over genuine understanding. This led to a period of academic apathy, particularly in my third year. Courses like Quantum Mechanics and Astronomy, which I expected to be intellectually stimulating, were reduced to rote memorization. It wasn’t until my final year that I regained motivation and reconnected with my love for problem-solving.

That same curiosity and drive led me to Information Technology. I found in IT a field that rewards hands-on learning, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving — everything I had hoped for in my academic journey. I’ve since gained practical experience in system repair, operating system installation, and hardware/software troubleshooting. I’m proficient in both Windows and Linux environments, and I use Python and Bash scripting to automate tasks and streamline support operations.

I’ve worked with organizations like Chidono Limited and Enetwork, where I served as a technician, developer, and Python instructor. I’ve also built small-scale applications using APIs and continue to expand my skills through personal projects. My certification in Emotional Intelligence from Alat Wema Bank has strengthened my ability to communicate effectively and support users with empathy.

I’m now seeking to grow further in IT support — a field where I can combine my technical skills, teaching experience, and passion for helping others. I believe this is where I can make the most impact, and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead.
