BETHEL EWUNG

Dr Bethel Ewung is a resourceful Agricultural and Development Economist with 15 years of project experience. He is recognized for his sound knowledge of Community Driven Development (CDD) model and its applicability in rural social infrastructure services, public health and agricultural related development interventions funded by the World Bank. He possesses cognate experience in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement, training and capacity building, project and programme monitoring and evaluation, policy design and analysis, project needs assessment, appraisal and risk management amongts others. He holds a B.Sc in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the University of Calabar, M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan and a Ph.D in Agricultural Economics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

He possesses the global credential of Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) USA, and also an Associate Chartered Economist (ACE) from the Institute of Chattered Economist of Nigeria (ICEN). He began his humble development career with a volunteer service in the World Bank assisted State Aids Control Programme (SASCP) in the Cross River State Ministry of Health and also worked with the Cross River State Community and Social Development Agency where he played strategic role in helping the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) and the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme to support 910 multi-sectoral micro projects in over 350 communities and vulnerable groups with social and natural resources infrastructure services. He is a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) advisor to Nolistic Consult.

Dr Bethel Ewung has been involved in providing consulting services to several organization funded by the World Bank and IFAD. He has published several research in reputable journals and contributed chapters to books the latest being, “Agricultural Transformation in Africa, Contemporary Issues, Empirics, and Policies” edited by Gbadebo Odularu. Dr Ewung is currently writing a book on “Collaborative Development”. The book would be a rich resource for development practitioners, policy makers and project managers. He is married with children.
