Social

Services offered

I operate at the intersection of policing, security sector reform, training, research, and strategic governance. I have designed and led high-level police training programmes across various levels, including role- and competency-based curricula for all ranks, from investigators to intelligence officers and specialised units.

I also provide expert consulting to national and international partners on police reform, community policing, accountability systems, and SOP-driven operational standards. I lead the development of policies, frameworks, evaluation tools, and operational guidelines that strengthen professional conduct, human rights compliance, and service delivery within the Nigeria Police and other law enforcement agencies.

I conduct research and produce academic-level analyses on policing, security studies, governance, and leadership. I have also led capacity-building projects funded by organisations such as the EU, UNDP, UNODC, GS-Foundation, Ford Foundation, and others.

I support strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and policy advocacy within the broader security and justice sector.

I mentor police personnel and design systems to institutionalise mentoring, problem-solving, and ethical leadership.

I engage in community safety programmes, local security partnerships, and public trust-building initiatives.

Experience

• I bring more than 30 years of leadership experience in the Nigeria Police Force, where I rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General.
• I specialise in police training, curriculum design, and competency-based capacity building for officers at every level, from constables to senior leaders.
• I design and deliver reform-focused training programmes on Stop and Search, Arrest and Detention, Crime Investigation, Intelligence-Led Policing, Use of Force, Community Policing, and SOP-based operational standards.
• I support national and international organisations such as the EU (RoLAC), UNDP, UNODC, and GS-Foundation on reforms, accountability systems, and strengthening police structures.
• I develop policies, SOPs, operational guides, and assessment tools that improve professionalism, protect rights, and raise service quality across police commands and units.
• I conduct advanced research and write academic work on policing, governance, leadership, internal security, and strategic studies, including PhD-level analysis and policy papers.
• I lead community policing programmes, build partnerships, and support local security projects that promote trust, prevent crime, and encourage joint problem-solving.
• I provide consulting support on internal accountability, complaints management, operational leadership, and strategic planning within the security and justice sector.
• I design mentoring frameworks, evaluation tools, and long-term strategies that help training schools and operational units retain and apply skills.
• I contribute to advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and reform discussions involving government, police leadership, civil society, and development partners.

Education

I hold an MSc in Policing, Security and Community Safety from London Metropolitan University, which deepened my understanding of modern policing strategies, crime prevention, and public safety. I also earned an MSc in Police Leadership and Management from the University of Leicester, where I strengthened my capacity for strategic leadership, organisational development, and reform-focused decision-making. My academic foundation began with a BSc in International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University, which equipped me with insights into global governance, diplomacy, and international security. Together, these degrees have shaped my approach to police reform, security sector development, and community-based policing. I am currently studying for my PhD in Security and Strategic Studies at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria.
