Donald Trump pulled the trigger on a third White House run on Tuesday night, setting the stage for a bruising Republican nomination battle after a poor midterm election showing by his hand-picked candidates weakened his grip on the party.

Trump officially launched a campaign for president in 2024, filing papers with the Federal Election Commission in which he declared himself a candidate for the presidency and established a new campaign committee.

Trump is expected to give a speech later in the evening at his Florida private club, Mar-a-Lago.

YouTube has announced its expansion efforts to support creators and the creative economy in Africa with $20,000 and $50,000 respectively through the 2023

The Managing Director, Emerging Markets, YouTube EMEA, Alex Okosi, says in a statement that the initiative from YouTube was a follow-up to a global, multi-year commitment made in 2020.

Okosi notes the grant is intended to uplift and grow Black creators, artists, songwriters, and producers on the platform.

According to him, YouTube is seriously interested in the growth of the creative community in Africa.
